OUR STORY
A story of passion, precision, and the art of French pâtisserie.
Where It All Began
A vision in 2023, a plan in 2024, and established in 2025, Coquette Pâtisserie — a farm-to-table French boutique bakery — opened its doors in May 2025 as a cottage bakery before expanding into a brick-and-mortar location in the heart of downtown Fergus Falls in 2026.
After years of building businesses rooted in service, care, and community, owner Emily McCune felt called to create a space that blended creativity with comfort — a place where people could gather, connect, and enjoy life’s sweeter moments. Inspired by classic European pâtisseries throughout her travels in France, Spain, and Italy, along with her passion for locally grown, nutrient-dense ingredients, Coquette was born as both an artistic outlet and a thoughtful offering to the Fergus Falls community.
From the very beginning, it wasn’t just about pastries — it was about living with purpose, conviction, and a deep passion for the craft. About creating an experience shaped by care and precision. A warm hello. A thoughtfully wrapped box. A treat that feels special enough to celebrate, yet simple enough for an ordinary Wednesday.
Our Philosophy
At Coquette, we believe food is personal. Every recipe and every batch are crafted with intention, every guest welcomed as a friend. Our approach is thoughtful, hands-on, and rooted in the belief that healthier people make healthier communities. This is reflected in the quality products we source that go into every batch of dough we prepare, every warm beverage we brew, every sandwich we put together, and every salad we chop.
We source more than 75% of our ingredients locally and value our partnerships and relationships with local growers and producers. Our flour, butter, and eggs — the pillars of pastry — are all sourced within 80 miles and our rotating/seasonal menus feature ingredients grown and sourced exclusively right here in Fergus Falls and throughout Otter Tail County.
More than a healthy body, we want to encourage a healthy mind — and we feel that bringing you together over nutritious scratch-made pastries, lunches, and beverages nurtures a connection that we need to regain as a community.
What Guides Us
Craftsmanship: Every pastry and menu item is handcrafted with meticulous precision and attention to detail by our Head Pastry Chef, Emily McCune, and her team.
Quality: We take zero shortcuts when it comes to quality ingredients, using organic whenever possible and committing to 100% small-batch and scratch-made production.
Elegance: Beauty in every detail - from the pastries we create to the experience we cultivate.
No-Waste Commitment: At Coquette, we commit to a zero waste policy. We recycle, compost, and use our innovative, sexy bakers’ brains to create new menu items with surplus ingredients during peak season. This helps unload extra produce from local growers and builds a robust, unique menu for us all!
